The NF-S12A housing fan marks the third generation of Noctua's classic S12 series, which has received more than 250 awards and recommendations in the international trade press.
Thanks to the advanced blade geometry with anti-stall knobs and the new AAO frame (short for Advanced Acoustic Optimization), the NF-S12A achieves up to 8% higher efficiency (output/noise development) compared to its renowned predecessor.
The ULN version with its super-slow speed options (800/600rpm) enables almost noiseless operation and is therefore perfectly suitable for ultra-low noise applications and particularly noise-sensitive users.
Its excellent smoothness, the SSO2 reference class bearing and Noctua's proven premium quality make the NF-S12A a choice for noise-optimized housing cooling.
Award-winning S12 designThe NF-S12A uses the third evolution stage of Noctua's classic straight blade design, which has registered countless recommendations from hardware enthusiasts and journalists around the world to the S12 series.
Further optimized for an even better airflow/noise efficiency, it makes the NF-S12A the ideal quiet housing fan.
Anti-stall knobsThose of the NF-S12A reduce eddy-release phenomena in situations with medium to high flow resistance and thus extend the so-called stall margin (flow-reduction limit).
This makes the NF-S12A even more versatile than its predecessor and enables better results on heatsinks and radiators.
AAO frame systemNoctuas AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimization) frames have integrated vibration buffers, a stepped inlet design and an internal surface microstructure (Inner Surface Microstructures) that enable even better performance/noise efficiency.
Quilted inlet designThe stepped inlet area of the Stepped Inlet Design creates more turbulence in the supply.
This facilitates the transition from laminar flow to turbulent flow, which is better attached to the frame (flow attachment) and thus increases the suction capacity of the fan, especially with a limited suction area.
Inner Surface MicrostructuresThe inner surface microstructure (Inner Surface Microstructures) creates a boundary layer through which the tips of the fan blades move.
This reduces the current separation from the suction side of the blade tips, resulting in a significant reduction of the rotating tone and an increase in the pressure and air flow efficiency.
Integrated anti-vibration padsThe anti-vibration pads made of extra-soft silicone reduce the transmission of minimal vibrations and are also compatible with all commercially available mounting systems and fan clamps used in CPU coolers.
Smooth Commutation Drive 2The latest, enhanced version of Noctuas SCD drive system guarantees excellent smoothness by eliminating torque fluctuations and switching noise.
This makes the NF-S12A surprisingly quiet even from close up.
2 speed options for maximum smoothnessThe ULN (Ultra-Low-Noise) version offers settings via the accompanying adapter 800rpm and 600rpm and is thus perfectly suitable for silent enthusiasts, who demand super-slow speeds and minimum noise development.
Comprehensive connection optionsWhile the 20cm short primary cable helps to avoid cable mess in typical applications, the included 30cm extension offers extra range for all cases.
Both cables are fully shrouded.
SSO2 bearingsThe NF-S12A is equipped with the further optimized second generation of Noctua's proven SSO storage system.
With SSO2 the rear magnet sits closer to the fan axis and thus causes an even better stabilization, which leads to a further improved precision and durability.
Metal bearing shellIn order to guarantee the greatest possible degree of manufacturing precision, minimum tolerances and excellent long-term stability, the NF-S12A uses a CNC machined bearing shell made of brass.
